When You’re Ill; Still Choose Better
This week was a write-off physically.
Low energy. Feeling rough. Zero motivation.
And you know what my brain wanted?
Beige food. Sugar. “I’ll start again next week” energy.
Old me would’ve leaned all the way in. Comfort food, no movement and guilt in full flow.
But not this time.
Because being ill doesn’t mean abandoning yourself or your goals.
I didn’t eat “perfectly”.
I didn’t train as hard as I would have liked to.
What I did do was choose supportive comfort instead of sabotage.
Warm meals.
Protein.
Fluids.
Rest without spiralling.
Discipline
It’s choosing nourishment when your body’s asking for comfort.
It’s adjusting - not quitting.
Your progress won’t be lost in a bad week.
It’s lost when you use a bad week as an excuse to give up.
You don’t need a reset.
You need one better choice at a time.
So if you’re ill, exhausted, hormonal, stressed; whatever it is, be smart with your decision making and still eat and move with intent.
That’s how this becomes a lifestyle.
Not all-or-nothing.
Just showing up, even when you don’t want to.
